“The only way the department will weather this in the long term … is to really put data behind their response,” Tara Murphy Dougherty, the CEO of Govini, told Morning D. She added that such analysis will help the Pentagon most effectively spend the $10 billion it is designated in the emergency relief bill that Trump signed over the weekend. “If the Department of Defense does not apply data to the problem set, the funding could be inefficiently applied in a best-case scenario and squandered in the worst.”
